"Locos are around all the time. They control this area, senior. But no see them in the construct yard over here. Workers come every so often but they no do any working."

She must be talking about the Southside Locos. A Latino street gang that is known for it's ruthlessness and brutality. They are prevalent in the drug trade and extortion rackets. They also do a lot of human trafficking but it's more for smuggling people into the US than for prostitution or slavery.

I calmly put down my pen.
"Now, miss, I have no more questions for you. Do you have anything else you would like to let me know."
(depeding on what she says I might roll to intimidate her to tell me more. Coulyou let me know what to roll for that incase I do.)

The woman shakes her head.
"No, senior, nothing else. These are all I know about that place"
She points through the wall in the direction of the construction site.

I close my notebook. I stand, and extend my hand for a hand shake.
"Thank you, miss. You have been a big help. "

She stands and shakes your hand.
"Ci, senior."

She opens the door, again checking the street outside, seemingly satisfied she opens the outer door and ushers you outside.

"Buenos noches, senior."

"Bueno noche, miss." I say with an accent.
I walk out onto the side walk and start walking down the street. May I make some kind of roll to think of what politican is incharge of this neighborhood/district?

The breeze carries a chill that makes you remember you mortal days, when this weather would have been nearly unpleasant as you walk down the sidewalk. Half a block behind you a group of three Latino males are smoking on a porch. One of them calls out in your direction:
"Hey you lost, ese?!"

This area is the purview of Ward 7 Seat 3 of the Oklahoma City Council. Kesha Kennedy, if memory serves, is the councilwoman for Ward 7 Seat 3.

"Best you keep walking then, ese!" The man calls back, "This ain't your hood!"

I don't respond, rather I keep walking as I dial up the number I recorded that was the construction companies contact info.

An automated messaging service answers the phone when you call. Offering to send you to a voice-mail if you know the extension of the party you'd like to reach.

I hang up now that I have the knowledge that the company appears to be an open company.
I stop in my steps, and turn around. I walk towards the three latinos, getting close enough to hear them with auspex up.

The two that didn't shout at you are ridiculing the third about how bad-ass he must be to shout at a guy walking away. One suggests that they should have rolled you, that nice of a suit surely you'd of had a decent stash of cash in your wallet. The other one calls them both pussies and brags how he'd just have shot you and dumped your body in the construction site after taking your valuables.

Roll to tell if they are actually three guys who would do those things, or just talking themselves up.

Given the location and the time of night, it's entirely possible they would attempt to mug you. You doubt the sincerity of the threat to kill you, however.

I approach the three, not getting any close enough they could reach me immediately.
At which point I say,
"Ecc use me young men, are you from this neighborhood?"

"Are you fuckin' jokin me man? The fuck you want?"

"Holy shit the guy came back, seriously, hommie, you lookin' to get pop'd?"

There is some obvious puffing of chests and posturing by the three men.

I stand my ground firmly, and match my voice to that firmness,

"I'm not here for any reason other than to ask if you know anything about the construction halt."

"What the fuck you trippin' about old man? Who gives a shit about that fuckin' empty lot?" One of the trio steps up, the one that threatened to mug you earlier, he is obviously the 'leader' of this little group.

The trio back down somewhat, they all relax their posture.

"Don't threaten me with your old age hommie, the fuck you want to know about the construction site? It's been sittin' like you see it for weeks now."

"I' an just wondering if three guys like yourselves know how it's going along. You are locals here, seem like the kind who keep a real eye on you neighborhood. I know if some asshoe uptight up-towner wanted to destroy my neighborhood I'd want to know whats going on too.I see you three, and I assume you have the same mentality. So again, do you know what happened at the site?"
