The Last Round

As many, if not all of you know, I am going to be spending some time away from the game. My life was not in the best place when I joined this game - this community, as it turned out to be. All of you gave me a reason to smile, and look forward to coming home at the end of the day. It was still dark, and lonely, but when I sat at my computer and brought up the chat, or replied to a post... I felt loved, and appreciated, and wanted. 

You strangers from around the world gave me the courage and determination to look inward and realize my problems, and to ask for help. Mental health has never been a safe discussion in my family, and I suppose I felt trapped by that - less of a person, less of a man, for feeling this way.

Someone wiser than I said that family is the people you choose. And I agree with that wholeheartedly. This decision, to move forward, has helped me.. immeasurably. And no matter if we dissolve after a year, or two, or five. I will always think fondly of you; my text-on-screen family. 

I am sorry. I am sorry for leaving the game after Vincent became a key player in the Court, and I know a lot of you would say that I don't to apologise, but I still wanted to, because I feel like it is the right thing to do.

The outpouring of love and respect will not be forgotten, and I will think of you all while I am away. 


Oh - and please don't kill Vincent.

Like I said in my email the other day, we've got nothing but love for you, brother. And the strength you're showing in getting the help you need should be an inspiration to us lesser folk.

On a serious note: there's no shame in taking care of yourself, brotha. Go do what you need to do and know no matter what you always have a family here.

My therapist believes that my 'creative juices' are best funnelled towards something a little lighter than the World of Darkness, and so, unfortunately, I feel I must retire.

I am sorry, again, for dicking you around. And I am sorry for the limbo I left Vincent in, and I know its going to be tricky to get rid of the little shit.

I wish you the best in all your endeavors. Don't worry about Vincent in the court or any of that. We will miss you! I agree about the community on here. I had no idea what to expect on a play by post.

Don't worry about it Vince. You played a fantastic character we all enjoyed interacting with and having in the game (and have even been inspired by)

Real life comes first. You've got to take care of yourself. No apologies needed. You will be missed.
