So many new faces at once! Very exciting week to be seeing grey names turning into red ones, and then character names and avatar pictures forming into new participants. Welcome, welcome, and hello to you all. I like to do a post like this every Sunday to open up a friendly banter about what happened during the week that players may want to discuss. It's made for some important changes in the game before, I think, but I'm just used to playing in LARPs and going to a diner to shoot the shit with everyone afterward, and saw an opportunity to mirror that here during the Sunday quiet time.

The only scene I found time to participate in this week was the one in Devon Tower, but it really kept active. Two of the new players' characters participated in it as well as myself, Vincent, and Abbie, which meant that it had more PCs involved than the combat scene from the week prior. It was like a little taste of just how active the informal court this coming week can be, and with so many fresh angles, I'm rapt with anticipation.

One thing that happened during the Devon Tower scene was a player-based misunderstanding of some lore that was put out of the character's mouth. Thank you very much to everyone involved for running with it until a storyteller corrected the misunderstanding and clarified that it was the player that was mistaken, and not the character. I think that showed good roleplaying and a focus on the fun of the game (rather than the PvP) from the players involved. After the correction, everyone was a real good sport, and the scene carried on without anything being redone, just a re-direction of the conversation's flow; I was quite impressed.

I have to say I've been looking for a forum-based game for a long time and played on 2, but never have I been on one this amazing. I have loved every moment I've been here and everyone from the Admin to the players have been nothing but outstanding!

I'm still hitting little bumps here and there, like I suppose new players should, but I love being a part of this. Smile Thank you all for making this place hands down the best place I've ever played.

To what Abram was saying, I was involved in that misunderstanding and the way we rolled with it and tweaked things to right the issue was pretty much flawless.

I'm still trying to cement the mindset of my character who doesn't want to trust anyone, even his clanmates, but at the same time is seeking someone to trust. It's a fun twist on a character that I haven't explored before. Smile

I'm glad you like it so far, Tyler.

It warms the cold dead heart of your ST. Razz

As to the knowledge 'oopsie' that happened this week, I can only echo Abram and Tyler, once the issue was corrected, the players in the scene took it all in stride and just ran with it and it was pretty awesome.

I am expecting the Informal Court this coming week to be one heck of a busy scene and I look forward to my struggle to keep up with all you crazy kids!

I say this all the time and I'm just going to keep saying it; you guys are the ones that make this game so often. I just supply the playground, you guys provide the game. And it is an amazing game so far.

So thank you all for making OKC by Night a consummate success!

Sooooo why don't you write up a Sunday review? Problem solved!

But still give Abram grief!

I didn't think I've been here long enough to do a Sunday review... but I can give it a go. Smile

So, we had court this week and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it! I feel like Farris and Vicar do an outstanding jobs with not just playing multiple characters and leading the entire story, but making each NPC believable and three-dimensional.

When I was interacting with Primogen Gaylord I didn't at all feel like I was talking to Primogen Devon with a different name. The motivations, viewpoints, and nuances of who they were were quite clear and made it thoroughly enjoyable to interact with them!

One thing I need to work on is I let my and Abbie's drive home thread go far too long. It was like with 4 hours left I suddenly had all these good ideas I wanted to squeeze in. Smile Time management will be my focus next time.

Aside from that, I'm loving how my character is developing...despite everyone else's character thinking he's a fool in one form or another, and I look forward to seeing a how a lot of this plays out.

There. How'd I do? Smile

Sounded like a good recounting of your out-of-character opinions concerning the week's events to me. We're glad you're enjoying yourself, despite or in spite of the rather cold in-character atmosphere your character has been dipped in.

I made a point of trying to take over for NPCs during scenes to keep things running while Farris is unavailable to improve my worth as an ST... remembered to ask one character about the Traditions as her Primogen, but then totally forgot to do it as the PRINCE, which is when it actually mattered. Ugh. My own personal thing to look out for in the future.

Having SO MANY new players is very exciting, and we got even more this Sunday! I am very much looking forward to doing what I can to keep things interesting now that you are all free of the peer pressure to attend Court, and have a day just for your characters' personal goals to be pursued.
